- Facial nerve reconstruction
There are several causes that can lead to facial paralysis: trauma, removal of lesions at the posterior cranial fossa or middle ear, or the long course of the facial nerve.

The type of treatment
The loss of function of the facial mimic musculature can be temporary or permanent.
In the latter case, surgery can be performed to proceed with dynamic or static corrections, bringing symmetry, mobility and aesthetics to the face.
The type of treatment (medical or surgical) should be identified based on the knowledge of the triggering cause and the time that has passed since the injury.
